Perry is interesting because even those who don't fall over love him (like me) tend to vote for him because in comparison everyone else is just awful. Those against him to the right tend to look fringe to people like me and those to his left tend to look too moderate. At the same time, Perry has appealed to tea partiers in the past and has spoken at their events and been supportive of them. But on the other hand, he has pulled in that independent vote that doesn't always like that "to the right" politician. He's a very interesting politician as far as the groups he appeals to and the way he keeps on winning despite most people not being 100% satisfied with him. At the moment I can't say anything negative about him. There have been things I didn't like in the past (gardasil, toll roads) but it's never been enough to make me switch candidates which I have done with our congressional representatives who I flat out refuse to vote for no matter who is on the opposite side of them. I could see Perry being a great candidate for the Republicans. It will be interesting to see how he and Romney meet up for the fight because they both have that same "I look like a President" look, they both have the economy, but Perry is just more conservative (though without sounding preachy to the middle).

I like Bachmann and I know she did great at the debate, I can see her as a VP - her or Rubio (who I think will get it). Or, I can see Bachmann running next time. I think she's got a few more years and I like the idea I heard one pundit say, that she should run for governor and then leap from there to President. By the way, I don't think Romney care was a mistake and he should hammer that hard. He should remind everyone that it was a state solution and Republicans are generally for state solutions and that the citizens of Mass. seem to be happy with it so he gave the state what they wanted.
