There was a study done recently that said people in Sweden and Denmark are happier than people living in the U.S. They pay more taxes, but are happier. Go figure. Guess they don't mind paying more taxes because they get more from the gov't. Somehow I think if we paid most of our salaries in taxes, we wouldn't get quite as much as they do.


My cousin is very very happy to be living in Sweden. He says their election process runs about one month before the actual election and the biggest deal you may see is a few signs in his local torg. One thing he is not happy with is the health care system. I've written before about his dad being profoundly deaf(right ear) and has to wait now 21 months to see a audiologist for help. Same uncle waited 6 months to have a suspicious growth removed. Other than that and the cold cold winters, they love Sweden with its laid back people and many many pubs (community centers).
