Sorry for the confusion, idoiwill, but when you said "I guess I keep getting tired of all this talk of lazy Americans and the redistribution of wealth. As if somehow, if you make under 250k a year, you are "lazy"" and"while rich Americans are getting richer", keep in mind that some of us here are in that "rich" category. The way you were talking in your post to Colty seemed like you were expressing frustrations over posts, which is why you posted what you did to her. I guess there was no segue to your post, now that I read your last post. You were talking about people saying anyone who made less than $250,000 a year as being "lazy" and nobody here ever said that. And certainly nobody would ever say Colty's husband was lazy, so I gather you're talking about completely separate issues.

If the "rich" who make $250,000 a year are expected to pay the same tax rates as the "rich" who make $5 million a year, that's a little unfair to the ones who make $250,000. You don't get to that income level via golden parachutes and multi million bonuses. You get there through hard work, and you are very far removed from "rich". Obama may want to consider taxing the top 1% more, and leave the ones who make less in a year than some of those people make in a week out of the "spread your wealth to the middle class" initiative.

But it still doesn't have anything to do with Colty's husband, I think?
