first of all the article is from 2005. It does mention digital mam does use lower the exposure rate, which now is state of the art for mams. They no longer have the extensive compression as they did back in 91 (when I had my baseline mam and found a tumour at that time)

The environment we live in has always raised concern as does that increase the rate of any cancer.

With more woman receiving mams (than say 20 yrs ags) and many tumours not found by self exam, you will have a increase rate of cancer.

Personally, I'd rather have my annual mam than not...
