GM is making cars that energy efficient. The only way to justify them is when gas is at $4. It's a lot higher than that in most of Europe.

Basically this is just capturing some of the costs of polluting. It's capitalizing something that has always been free. We don't live in a world of infinite resources.

So you agree that the people who were screaming and bitching about $4 a gallon gas prices, blaming them all on Bush, were wrong to do that?

Funny, I remember Obama saying on the campaign trail "Gas prices are killing folks.", and blaming high gas prices on politicians (translation - Republicans) not standing up to the gas companies. But now it's okay to raise the prices, because it's all for the greater good of the environment? Well at least the folks who were getting "killed" by gas prices will die happy, I suppose.

Obama in April of 2008: In the remarks, Obama said soaring gas prices were the latest manifestation of a Washington establishment that won't tackle the problems facing most consumers, and that he would bring needed change.

"In the end, we'll only ease the burden of gas prices on our families when Hoosiers and people all across America say 'enough,"' Obama said. "It's time to free ourselves from the tyranny of oil and stop funding both sides in the war on terror."

But it's okay to burden them now, really?
