No, I think Obama was serious about the high gas prices. I don't think it's the price of gas that is a problem as much as that we are not prepared for it. In Europe they have had cars that 60mpg for a long time. Here we have been buying SUV's instead. America has 5% of the population, yet consumes 26% of the energy. Had we followed Carter's lead we and the earth would be in a much better situation.
