Ido, my husband is a very hard working coal miner. He risks his life every single day going 640 ft. underground. He's had hundreds of hours of
schooling in order to do his job. He controls one of the most dangerous mining machines that there is underground called the "Continuous Mining
Machine", which has razor sharp shears that dig the coal from the walls. He also is what you call a "Roof Bolter". His job on this end of the
mine is to bolt the roof up. There are machines to do this also, but there are also places where he has to do this by hand where the machines just cannot
fit....and just ONE slip by him or a co-worker.....down will come thousands of tons of coal on top of the miners.
As for the clean coal? In the past year, just in this county alone, there has been tremendous advancements. They have successfully installed several ...what
is called "Scrubbers". They are sulfur-dioxide-reducing scrubbers. And more is on the way. This is because the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency finalized its sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions rules this month.
Now I don't know if you were serious or even sarcastic in your post, but I just needed to put my 2 cents in. I am very proud of what my husband does. In
reality, if it weren't for people like my husband, I truely doubt that many of us would even be able to turn on our computers.
